That depends on the CPU and the clock speed at which you want to run it. A sixth-generation Core i5 can be cooled with it without any problem. I even cool these things passively most of the time because they hardly generate any waste heat. But if you want to run a 5930k at more than 4GHz, then the Dark Rock mentioned by Dominik would certainly not be bad (but it's big, be careful if it fits!) - but in normal cases it's definitely not necessary. Basically, the CPU is less important for gaming (there are exceptions, of course) and the little performance you get out of overclocking is not worth the extra cost of a better cooler. It's better to invest more in the GPU ;-) Conclusion: Yes, this cooler is sufficient for gaming in most cases. For more precise information, you should provide more detailed information about the hardware.
