Correct, the energy efficiency is rated as a D, so it isn't the most energy efficient coffee maker available, A+++ ratings are the best, D is quite bad, but other than that it's a very good coffee maker, I can highly recommend.

Hello Patsand. I was also a beginner when I bought my Barista Express. However, the price was the deciding factor for me. The Barista Pro only scores points when it comes to dosing the amount of coffee. The grinder of the Barista Express is not always so accurate with the quantities, but that's no problem, even as a beginner. Greetings
