Yes, the Sage Claro Swiss water filter is suitable for your portafilter machine as, according to the manufacturer, it is explicitly compatible with the SES875 model. It protects against limescale, improves the coffee flavour and should be changed every 3 months.

Helpful answer
The overall height of the Sage Barista Express, including the grinder at the top, is approximately 41 cm, as stated for similar models. The exact height may vary slightly depending on the model variant, but 41 cm is a typical value for this type of machine.

No, the plate is heated by the general heat of the machine. However, the plate does not get really hot, rather nice and warm! I love the machine and the espresso, but you have to be careful about how you use it because of the high power consumption. It is therefore not suitable for running all day or being heated up briefly, like a capsule machine. In my case, the machine was delivered with a CH plug.

Yes, it has a built-in milk frother. The milk must be foamed separately, of course. Cup height max. approx. 10cm. The machine is generally very recommendable. Price/performance is unbeatable for a portafilter in my opinion.

The grinder is indeed very loud and you can't change that. The pump increases the pressure after 2-3 seconds and then becomes very loud. You can change this as follows: 1. adjust the coffee powder grind and quantity so that the pressure gauge is at least in the middle when the pressure increases. Otherwise, the machine is great.

Hello Patsand. I was also a beginner when I bought my Barista Express. However, the price was the deciding factor for me. The Barista Pro only scores points when it comes to dosing the amount of coffee. The grinder of the Barista Express is not always so accurate with the quantities, but that's no problem, even as a beginner. Greetings
