I think the power button is very well embedded in the side of the case and, in my opinion, can only be pressed in by a pointed or finger-sized object (such as a finger!). Attached is a video where you can see this relatively well (from minute 1:05): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxjCOcBfWtU PS: You can find more reviews in the right column of the above video on Youtube.
I've had the thing for over a year but haven't had a clue. So I tried it out. And yes, you can charge the powerbank and at the same time continue charging a device plugged into the powerbank. However, I can't say anything about the speed. I used a Huawei 40 Watt charger. I hope my babbling helps.
I would perhaps try a different charger. If it still doesn't work, it could be the charging cable. You can tell if the unit is charging by the blue lights. As soon as all four lights are on and no longer flashing, the RAVPower RP-PB044 is fully charged. If the device does not charge at all, I would contact Digitec myself. As far as I know, this damage should be covered by the warranty.
I also had a defective powerbank, mine lit up briefly and then the LED went out immediately. However, charging takes a very long time...more than one night!
Yes, this is possible, but for a laptop, for example, the output is too weak to charge and use the laptop at the same time (the battery runs out faster than the PowerBank can charge it). For mobile phones, tablets and tinker boards, however, this should not be a problem.
Unfortunately, we do not have any empirical values on this so far.
