Presumably because the manufacturer simply does not track its own specifications. The device came onto the market in mid-2016. At that time, I don't think there were any 14TB hard drives.

Such hardware RAID systems are usually proprietary and not compatible with each other. I would only try something like this with the same manufacturer or go straight to a data recovery specialist. Good luck!

As long as it is SATA hard disks and not IDE or something else, this should not be a problem in principle. PS: I recommend that you state the product designation or manufacturer number of your hard drive when asking such questions.

Hello Fallot87 I have had a box like this in operation since last week. I have 2x WD Red Pro 3TB (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/wd-red-pro-3000gb-35-nas-festplatte-3452107) installed in it, which worked perfectly, but I cannot say whether it works so perfectly with all hard disks. (Don't forget that the first time you use it, you have to assign the memory via the administration). The fan is, in my opinion, very quiet. However, it does not cool very strongly, but at least it is better than nothing.
