Questions about Lindy HDMI Audio Extractor

Does this thing actually work? I'm a bit sceptical because I've been looking for an extractor before and only had problems. The extractor I had could only be switched on and worked for a short time after installation. Shortly afterwards, it no longer worked. That's why I'm always a bit cautious with such devices.

Received the thing today, plugged it in between the laptop and the projector, works well, the sound on the mixer is good quality. BUT! I unplugged the HDMI cable from the laptop and plugged it back in later. The laptop died immediately! Could it be that this Lindy HDMI Audio Extractor is feeding voltage back into the HDMI?

is the power supply unit with CH plug included ???

Does it output the audio signal on both outputs (Cinch, Toslink) simultaneously? Or is only Cinch active with the "Stereo" setting and only Toslink with the other?

Would it work with an Xbox Series X, 4k at 60Hz?

Can I extract the ARC signal from my TV with this?

Can I control the volume on this extractor via HDMI CEC? In my chain, since I switched to Sunrise and AppleTV, I can no longer control the volume on any device and everything is dependent on an HDMI receiver. However, I don't want to replace my old amplifier at all and therefore need an audio extractor that can control the volume.

Does this product come with a 230V AC / 5V DC power supply?
