With VGA, the signal is converted (from digital to analogue) - there is a loss of quality. With DisplayPort and DVI-D there is no conversion, the signal is and remains digital. For this reason, I would advise DisplayPort or DVI-D. DisplayPort is probably the best way, it can transmit up to 4K (3840x2160px) at 60hz.

Hi Becker,roger94, The DisplayPort mentioned is not compatible with the Lenovo Yoga as far as I can see. How do you plug a Yoga into a docking station? For the Lenovo Yoga X1 4th Gen.it is recommended to use the Port ICY BOX IB-DK4040-CPD - USB Type-C mini Dock PD (HDMI, VGA, 100W, USB Type C, USB Type A). See accessories for the Yoga X1 4th Gen.

I bought this docking station to fit my ThinkPad L570. I don't know if it also fits a TP L590. But there is a type of dock listed in the accessories for the L590. Greetings phauser44

Personally, I could not use 2 monitors either. Per Lenovo's forum, only DP/DVI + VGA can be used, but this did not work for me in practice either. (2x 2560x1440) However, the Thunderbolt 3 hub from Lenovo worked perfectly with the monitors, but requires a TB3-compatible port (the T470s has a USB-C port on the right side).

Greetings. No, this docking station is for Lenovo laptops that have a docking port (on the bottom of the laptop). As far as I know, none of the X1 models have such a port. Depending on the model, a USB 3, USB-C, Thunderbolt or OneLink docking is more likely. Regards

Yes, it is compatible! The difference to this product Part no. 639591 - Manufacturer's ref. 40A20090CH is in the video connections! This docking "only" has 1x DVI-D / VGA / DP each. *** The CHF 40.00 more expensive (item no. 639591 - manufacturer's ref. 40A20090CH) also has HDMI and a 2nd DP ***
