My screen has an HDMI connection: Which adapter should I choose (DisplayPort, VGA, ...)? What are the advantages/disadvantages? Have the T470s.

With VGA, the signal is converted (from digital to analogue) - there is a loss of quality. With DisplayPort and DVI-D there is no conversion, the signal is and remains digital. For this reason, I would advise DisplayPort or DVI-D. DisplayPort is probably the best way, it can transmit up to 4K (3840x2160px) at 60hz.
