Should actually work for the Legion, I'm currently considering buying one for the Ally. The charging power is limited to 85W, but it has a USB-C with 100W charging power, so it shouldn't be a problem. I think I'll sleep on it again and then I'll make up my mind. At most, you might reach your limits if you want to charge your handheld with 65 watts and charge other things depending on how much power they consume. Then you only have 20 watts of power left if your Legion draws 65 watts.

I have exactly the same hardware at full 4k (sharp). To get along with the HP I had previously installed "DisplayLink Manager Graphics Connectivity1.10" and also "macOS_InstantView_V3.18R". Both have compressors for the graphics and maybe the reason that it works for me. You can find both drivers in MAC_World. I hope I was able to help. With kind regards

You can connect two screens but it didn't work well with the work laptop (HP Elite and also two HP screens). I had the same picture on both screens, including the mouse. It was unusable for working. I then replaced this device with a docking station from HP.

Probably not. First the Surface Pro 5 does not have any USB-C port. Second, even if you connect it to the USB-A port using an adapter, most of the functions will not work. There is no video going through the USB-A port of the Surface Pro 5 so the HDMI ports of the HyperDrive will not work. The USB hub will probably work but if that's what you want, you can find much cheaper USB-A hubs.

Yes, the docking station is supported on all OS systems. However, if you switch often, I would recommend a kvm switch. Unless you need it mobile.

It is possible that the graphics unit of your Windows device is too weak to display two screens correctly. This can happen especially if the screens have a high resolution. A defect cannot be ruled out either, and if this is a possibility, I recommend that you register the device with us as a warranty case.

do you have two identical screens? because i had exactly the same problem. i only found out by chance. two different screens and it worked all at once...unfortunately, no one ever points this out and it doesn't make sense to me either, but that's how it was. 😅

No, but the macOS InstantView software must be running. Normally it displays an image from which you can start it. Alternatively, you can download the latest version here: https://www.siliconmotion.com/downloads/index.html
