Is this charger compatible with a C 3.0 usb cable with 5Gbps and 5V/3A charging? Or is the 3A too high compared to the 2A of the charger?

The cable should work (if it is type A to C), but the charger only wants to give 2A and not 3A.

Compatible yes but not optimal as new charging standards exist (Quick Charge), plus it seems the cable supplied is Micro-USB and not USB-C from the reviews. I would recommend a charger like this one for the P10 Plus (without the cable): Aukey PA-T9 Quick Charge 3.0 (Charger, 3A, 18W)

I ordered this charger for my Huawei P9 Plus, but unfortunately the cable is not compatible, although the description says compatible with P9 Plus. So I threw money out the window.

This charger is for the P9 Plus, Mate 8, not for the Mate 9 or Mate 9 Pro.
