USB-C is the physical connection and Thunderbolt is a protocol that comes from Intel. No guarantee for "full", but I had a previous model and the G2 & G5 were able to connect the notebook to two monitors. 2x Ultra-Wide probably not, 1x Ultra-Wide and 1x normal should work.

My dock is very quiet. The fan only comes on very rarely. However, we also have the same docks in the office where there are individual devices where the fan runs almost permanently. So far, no one has been able to tell me what the problem is. I was able to update the driver with my Windows PC. Unfortunately, I have no experience with Apple devices. But I assume that you can update your dock with a Windows device.
You can determine this very easily. If there is a lightning symbol next to the USB-C port of your notebook, then your notebook is Thunderbolt compatible and you can use this docking station.

There are adapters, but I would be careful because Thunderbolt can do some functions that you would lose with an adapter. It also depends on what you want to do with it and what other connections your laptop has. Maybe there is a more suitable device...
We had this problem with a new company laptop. With an original HP DisplayPort cable and a graphics card soft firmware update, it flew. Unfortunately, I cannot say whether this always works.

This works fine, just use the USB-C and Thunderbolt outputs on the G2 for 4K displays.
We already have a few cubes in use. It always came with a Thunderbolt cable.
The power cable is separate, so it can be removed from the docking station. I know the plug from other HP devices. However, I can't say whether the cable can be bought separately (it probably can).
The cable that connects to the laptop cannot be replaced. The cable is only about 50 cm long.

We use the docking station with various HP notebooks with USB-C or Thunderbolt and have no problems with it. Unfortunately, an EliteBook 1040 is not included, but it should work. I would also be confident with the Fujitsu. With the HP EliteBook 1030 X360 G2, we have already had a problem with the USB-C port several times. The mainboard of one device had to be replaced three times because the port broke. However, the docking station is not responsible for this.
The doc stations have a LAN connection, but they are never WLAN-compatible, because they are intended for laptops, which always have WLAN as well. So a WLAN adapter on a doc station doesn't really make sense?
This is most likely a software problem. Download the Hp SoftPaq Download Manager from the HP site and install the necessary software. It worked for me, but with a different HP model.
