33W definitely can't be right. I run my Home Mini on the USB port of my modem to save power. This can deliver a maximum of 0.9A at 5V (USB3.0). This would be a maximum of 4.5W. Works fine as long as it is not operated at maximum volume. If I remember correctly, a 2A 5V power supply unit was included in the delivery. That would be 10W.
Hello, this sounds more like a defect, the device has no battery or something, so just plugging it in and out should reset the thing. Have you already checked whether the Home Mini is also connected to the router? It should appear there. And when you restart it, it plays a sequence of tones when it is ready, does that sound?
It is also possible to do the configuration in Italian. The socket is Swiss. If you should not receive the right one, you can write to us at digitec@digitec.ch.
Honestly doesn't sound like a problem with the power supply. It should work with all 5V/1A power supplies. (Mine runs on an iPhone power supply) What about your Wi-Fi? Maybe it's too slow.
Greetings Timothy
When the description still said "CH power supply not included", I ordered the unit and still didn't receive one. Unfortunately, there have never been good times...
On a phone or tablet running under the second account, also install the Google Home app, and from there also connect to the Google Home device; should actually work.
Unfortunately, this only applies to those countries where the Google Home Mini is also officially available. Since we import the device, we unfortunately cannot offer this.
This is basically possible as long as your streaming provider allows multiple streams (or you use different providers). I use Google Play Music as my main provider. This only allows one stream. However, I can stream music from Google on one speaker and listen to the radio on another. In general, the number of radio streams does not seem to be limited.
Yes, you can connect the Google Home Mini to a soundbar to play music and other audio files via the soundbar, while simultaneously executing commands and actions via the Home Mini's Google Assistant.
Here are the steps you can follow:
## Connect to the soundbar
- Open the Google Home app on your mobile device.
- Select the device you want to connect (in this case the Home Mini)
- Go to the device's settings and select "Playback device" or "Default speaker"
- Select your soundbar from the list of available devices to set it as the default speaker.
## Play music via the soundbar
- Once the soundbar is connected to the Home Mini, you can play music and other audio files via the soundbar by giving commands such as "Hey Google, play [music track]".
## Commands and actions via the Google Assistant
- You can still perform commands and actions via the Home Mini's Google Assistant without affecting the music playback via the soundbar. For example, you can say "Hey Google, dim the lights" while the music continues to play.
This configuration allows you to take advantage of both devices: Listen to music via the soundbar and at the same time execute commands and actions via the Home Mini's Google Assistant.
I assume that by hotspot you mean using your phone as an internet source (tethering).
This is possible in principle. Since a smartphone is needed to set up the WLAN, there are two ways to set up the connection with a hotspot. The most obvious option is to use a second phone, as the first one has to maintain the hotspot all the time.
The second variant is to first connect the speaker to its home WLAN as normal. Then simply change the SSID and password of your smartphone hotspot so that it is identical to the home WLAN. The speaker will then automatically connect to your smartphone (of course only when you are outside your home WLAN).
I have already used the second option. In my opinion, it is the simpler one, as it is relatively time-consuming to change the Wi-Fi settings of the Google Home. You always have to complete the whole setup.
Theoretically, you could also connect the Google Home Mini to the phone via Bluetooth. But this only works if it is already connected to Wi-Fi. All the voice commands only work via Wi-Fi. Therefore, this is not a solution for on the go.
Hello everyone need your help:
One of my Google Home mini no longer works:
For two days, all four diodes have been lit continuously (no pulsing) and nothing works anymore. The Google Home mini no longer responds to anything.
Trying to unplug it and waiting 2 minutes before plugging it in didn't help.
So I tried the reset button:
I pressed it for 30 seconds with the device plugged in. One diode lit up green, the rest remained white. After releasing the button, however, there was no change. Also, the voice "Reset" did not come...
I also tried the whole thing with the device switched off and holding down Reset when plugging it in.
Only one green diode lights up and two instead of 3 white, but otherwise no change :-(
I also switched the microphone switch on and off several times without success or effect.
I threw the mini out of my Google Home (disconnected) but nothing there either and no new home mini recognised by the app....
Ps: wifi works fine and the other Home and Home mini devices work perfectly in the network.
Maybe someone has an idea how I can get them working again or what the problem could be.
Device defective?
Unfortunately, both have to live with some restrictions in Switzerland.
I have the Google Home Mini at home. I can use it to control the TV (Netflix), run Spotify, set alarms, make appointments, ask about the weather, Google things... without any problems.
Even the lights (Philipps HUE or alternatives (e.g. at IKEA)) can be controlled.
If such everyday things are enough for you, you are well served with it. The biggest limitations are simply the number of apps that can be linked (for example, as far as I know, Deezer cannot yet be used with Google Home in Switzerland) and some commands and routines.
Otherwise, Google Home also works quite well in Switzerland:-)
The assistant can be set to German with the Google Home app. However, Google does not yet have a partner for messages in Switzerland. Therefore, there is no German (Switzerland). With "Hey Google, Good morning" you will get the time, weather and your appointments for your place of residence, but with the news you will only hear German news. Everything else works perfectly in my experience. However, I use Google Home in English (UK), so it would be BBC New, as certain commands are simpler and shorter in English and the assistant sounds less technical.
