Yes, WhatsApp messages are also displayed. This is already set automatically.
There is a manual for this product that can be downloaded from Garmin. It describes these problems and how to solve them quite well.
Only at the ear and only a tick every 20 seconds. But already 20 cm away from the ear, nothing can be heard.

If you use the watch with smart functions (including a pedometer), it lasts pretty much exactly 5 days (regardless of whether only the pedometer function or other functions are used). After that, it only runs as a pure watch for up to 2 weeks. However, I have never tried this (max. 3-4 days), because I have charged the Smartwatch again beforehand. If you have not yet synchronised the watch with the app, the recorded values are retained until they are synchronised with the app. The charging function is not as nice as with wireless charging, but it works perfectly (it just doesn't look as nice).
As soon as the Garmin Smart Watch is more than 5-10 metres away from the connected/paired device, a symbol on the Smart Watch indicates that it is no longer paired. As soon as you get close to it again, the corresponding symbol indicates that the Smart Watch is paired again. In between, of course, no data is exchanged, but of course data is recorded, provided the battery level is not lower than 10 percent.
The hour hand is silver and usually easy to see.
By tapping on the name, you can access the message. By swiping you can read the whole text, but emojis are of course not displayed.
Yes, you will receive a notification. Most of the time, however, the notification is not really meaningful apart from the sender. Only a small part of the subject/body is included. It can be helpful that you see - "Ah, xyz has sent me an email", but it's not really good for reading/understanding the content. However, it does prevent you from reaching for your smartphone to check who has just written.
According to your own information, the mobile phone should be with you, as the watch draws the data from there.
No, you cannot listen to Spotify directly on it. You can "only" control Spotify with the watch when you stream from your smartphone (pause/play, skip song).
You see the name from the address book. If there is no match, the phone number is displayed.
Yes
According to the Garmin connect app yes, but never tried it.
Calendar messages should be displayed according to the settings (I haven't tried it because I have switched off everything except SMS, Whatsapp,...) but the watch doesn't make any sounds. This means that it would only vibrate.
In the Garmin app it has pairing options with other Garmin products. I guess that would work, but I can't guarantee it, because the Vivomove functions are enough for me.
Hello yes the vivomove hr measures the sleep phases, but I would not overestimate the result, why it would need a function that wakes me up in a light sleep phase is beyond me ? On the whole, however, I can highly recommend this simple Garmin watch. MfG db
There is a quick info widget which also shows the seconds.
According to the manufacturer, the black one is only available in size L and the white one only in size S/M.
Garmin lists the watch among the "Garmin Pay"-enabled devices, which means it is forced to have NFC. https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/c10002-p1.html?FILTER_USERPROFILE_GARMINPAY=true&sorter=featuredProducts-desc
Yes, this should be possible. Find out about Garmin Express, which is the variant for synchronising Garmin devices without a smartphone. Personally, I have no experience with this programme.
