The question has already been answered, but I would like to expand on Ivo's "yes" a little. :-) Basically, you can control in the associated smartphone app (Garmin Connect) per installed smartphone app whether notifications are passed on to the watch. In this way, you can control very precisely what you want to read on the watch and what not.
