In principle, yes - mechanically it will work. Whether data can actually be transferred to the stick depends on the operating system and/or the apps of the smartphone. The system must support access to external USB media.
I use it so that I can connect a keyboard with USB to my Mac Book Pro Retina. I can't imagine that there are any restrictions. But for the price I would just give it a try.
