Does the Apple SuperDrive (Video & CD) work with this adapter (it no longer works with a Hitachi muktiHub)?

Yes, this connector is compatible with a MacBook Pro (2019) and an Apple SuperDrive. Everything is fine!

Can't say. Only need it to connect a controller with USB A to a MacBook Pro.
