The answer is NO. The charger is supplying 10A charging current (which is a lot more than your typical 14Ah battery can handle) until the battery voltage is reaching 12.6V. Then the Charging voltage will increase to 14.4V followed by slowly decreasing charging current in the absorption phase. You can find these data in the manual (https://docs.rs-online.com/a611/0900766b8127052e.pdf) on page 5.

Helpful answer

Depending on the state of charge and the outside temperature, charging can take several hours. Therefore, it is not necessary to permanently monitor the charging process. The unit also does everything automatically. So switch it on and let it run overnight, even in a closed garage.

Helpful answer

Hello, if 2 charging sources are connected to one battery, the source with the higher voltage always supplies the charging current. You can therefore operate the solar charge controller and the charger in parallel without any problems. The diodes in the charger and the semiconductors in the charge controller prevent a "reverse current". As soon as the charger is connected to the mains, it will override the solar charge controller with a higher voltage.
