Can I leave the battery charging overnight in a closed garage or do I have to be around the car all the time to monitor the process? I don't have the car near me in case something happens.

Helpful answer

Depending on the state of charge and the outside temperature, charging can take several hours. Therefore, it is not necessary to permanently monitor the charging process. The unit also does everything automatically. So switch it on and let it run overnight, even in a closed garage.

You can leave the charger switched on without any problems. Especially in winter, this is even necessary if you drive less than 20 kilometres at a time. I have the charger more or less permanently connected to the mains, and the charger automatically goes into maintenance mode after it is fully charged. That means it is only charged very weakly and at intervals, just for maintenance. This way I can also run my auxiliary heating without hesitation and always have a warm car when I leave in the morning. The fire brigade's emergency vehicles are also permanently connected to the grid with these devices. My car battery lasts 7 years and more......
