The AX1500i power supply supports Type 4 for PCIe power cables. Only the 24-pin mainboard connector is Type 3. Further information here (column "All AXi"): https://www.corsair.com/us...
Hi Rolf1984, according to the Corsair website, the CP-8920331 has a three-layer paracord jacket, the CP-8920284 is normally insulated. If I'm interpreting this correctly, it's only visual.
Best regards
I would be careful, even if the connectors are identical. If you know that Cooler Master uses the same connectors on the PSU side as corsair, then you also have to compare the pinout, they could be different, in which case you would have to extract the individual cables from the connector and rearrange them, this works very well with a Molex extraction tool or with two thin objects, e.g. Bostich clamps, but is tricky. The cable itself is very good and I can recommend it :)
