If the TV or any receiver connected in between also supports this, it works with this cable. In any case, it works for me without any problems. However, there is currently speculation that the 120Hz mode is only activated for supported games. The activation is automatic. There is no manual option to set this on the console.

Hello and good day, so, if I understand the question correctly, the "old" HDMI cable works between the Swisscom TV box and the TV. And the "new" cable does not.
According to my understanding, the PIN assignment for the cable is given and must work. So it seems to me that there is a fault in the cable or in the PIN contacts (HDMI plug) in the cable.
By the way, the HDMI cable between the Swisscom TV box and the Sony TV works for me. I also use the same cable between the TV and the Denon amplifier and that works too.
Conclusion: I would consider the cable to be "defective" and have it exchanged.
