I have never had this situation because I always need all the colours and also replace them. But black alone should work, even if one of the other colours is empty.

Have not tried - no need. The format A7 (74 x 105 mm) is not mentioned for photo paper. However, an individual format with width 55 - 215.9 mm and length 89 - 676 mm is specified for the envelope.

I recently replaced a rather aged 8200 model with the TS 8350 and am satisfied for now.The addition of PhotoBlau ink improves the reproduction of blue tones - but the grey ink, which was beneficial for printing b/w photographs, has disappeared. The new device is more compact and has a higher resolution scanner. Provided it is durable, it is an advantageous solution. It is regrettable that CANON has not yet joined the emerging trend towards A3 format for compact home-office printers (print width 29 cm; feed of A3 media as single sheets from the rear).
