The problem only occurs when the printer is not used very often. About a year without problems, now after some downtime the print was only B/W and I had to flush the lines in the tools, now everything is OK again. If you use the printer very rarely, you should buy a laser.
Disposal. We replaced the printer during the warranty, now the problem came back and I wasted 2 hours cleaning etc. which didn't help. We have now bought one of the cheapest HP printers for CHF 40 with the cheapest 805 cartridges. If it breaks down, we will simply replace the printer. It's actually quite blatant that a product with an "ECO tank" is branded as economical and ecological and then has to be disposed of.
Hello,
In theory, as Zorin is based on Ubuntu and the printer is Ubuntu compatible, it should work. But with Linux, you can always expect to have to tinker for a few hours...
I have switched from an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus to the Canon GX6050. I can't see any difference in terms of print quality. However, I don't just print photos, only documents, and I'm very happy with the GX6050.
2-sided scanning is possible, please read the operating instructions carefully and follow the display on the printer.
Hoi Amku - I have the 7050 and assume it is pretty much the same except for the second tray and DuplexScan - so at least the same OS. I print several pages without any cleaning or delay in between. Even when the machine switches itself off and I switch it on again.
I marginally assume a "setting thing" - or then a defect "of some sorts":
- Have you already given the printer the latest firmware? My current firmware is 1.130
- Which InkDrying-Wait-Time do you have? Mine is set to 3
There is not much more to set...
Does the display show a message? You use original ink, right? Is it cold where you use the printer?
After a bit of searching on Canon and Google, I found a similar message, but without any solution or useful answer from Canon. So 2 possibilities a) Customer service Digitec (if bought here ;) ) or Canon Forum or customer service...
LG and good luck.
It is possible that your unit is affected by the recall and is drawing air through leaks.
6050 units:
with serial number between "KNDM00001" to "KNDM01214" (EU)
are affected.
I assume you mean the item Canon MC-G01 Maintenance cartridge (Black). According to the manufacturer's site, this part should be compatible: https://store.canon.co.uk/canon-mc-g01-maintenance-cartridge/4628C001/.
My Maxify GX6050 has the serial number KNDM05124, i.e. 'error-free'. Since apparently only low numbers (KNDM00001 to KNDM01214, probably earlier batches) are affected by this error, I assume that the current devices are all ok. However, I cannot guarantee this.
