I have switched from an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus to the Canon GX6050. I can't see any difference in terms of print quality. However, I don't just print photos, only documents, and I'm very happy with the GX6050. 2-sided scanning is possible, please read the operating instructions carefully and follow the display on the printer.
Compared to other inkjet printers, I find the print quality very good. Printing is also fast. I also have a Brother printer (MFC-J6947DW), but unfortunately its print quality is so poor that I only print in the highest quality (very slow). But even this is much worse than that of the PIXMA GX6050. But beware: the GX6050 cannot scan sheets on 2 sides. I have therefore replaced it with the GX7050 model.
I don't notice any difference to the previous model. Fully satisfied. But I no longer print photos. The super speed and the large ink cartridges and paper tray are good. All in all, it's a mature printer and I'm generally satisfied. Wifi and software work well. The chattering was a bit annoying at first. But you get used to it. What I didn't find so great were the errors in the print image that have now occurred twice, which then necessitated a major cleaning procedure (various programmes). A lot of ink is used here and this collection cartridge is quickly full and has to be replaced. But the service from Canon was good.
