Questions about ASUS WL-Router RT-BE88U

Hi, I am reading in the reviews and in the Q&A section that it is possible to use this router with Init7's Fiber7 service. The technician has installed the OTO plug, and Init7 has confirmed that the plug is active. Nevertheless, when I insert the SFP module from Flexoptix (which was sent by Init7) with the provided cable, the WAN icon on the router is solid red, and the SFP+ port does not light up. The WAN setting is correctly set to "SFP+," and no other changes have been made to the router's configuration, apart from the basic installation changes (like the SSID and admin login). Does the router work with Init7 10GBit? When ordering the cable and SFP, do I simply have to specify the router type Asus RT-BE88U and it will work?

ASUS RT-BE88U Hello ; I live in a house without a fibre optic connection and use a standard Internet connection. Can this product be connected to a VDSL line? Is this device a modem? Does this device have a modem function?

Is it possible to switch off the WiFi on the router? (Press the WiFi button to switch the WiFi signal on or off) as with the ASUS RT-AX88U

Can this router use the SFP+ port for WAN and use the XGS-PON fiber connection with Swisscom & Sunrise to avoid their basic router ? Or we are forced to use the official router and define the DMZ port for the Asus router ? Maybe there are some VLAN ID tagging on the WAN (SFP+) port ? Thank you :-)

Which would be the right / suitable access points / repeaters if I want to set up an AiMesh system? My Swisscom Internetbox 3 is currently in bridge mode and a Fritzbox 7690 is connected to it, but it's just no good. The 2.4 GHz WLAN keeps failing. I suppose / hope I can throw out the Fritzbox and just connect the Asus? As I have a large house without network cables, I still need more APs for a mesh.

The description says: Up to 9 LAN ports. Unfortunately, I can't even manage to get 8 ports :-( I can't find a way to switch the two LAN/WAN ports as pure LAN ports in the settings and the manufacturer only gives useless AI answers that are not even identical to the menu navigation of the RT-BE88U. And in the end you are connected to a technician if you transfer $5 by credit card. That's what I call "customer service" for a promised function that the AI doesn't even know :-( Does anyone from Digitec or the Community know how to activate the two LAN ports? I don't use the Internet, only use the RT-BE88U as a local network router with fixed LAN AIP and DHCP for WLAN Many thanks in advance

I'm about to get fibre optics. My problem is that Salt, Swisscom and Sunrise don't offer a bridge mode on their fibre boxes for private customers. How can I avoid double NAT under these conditions? I understand that I'm losing interest in my ASUS router (QoS, NAT gaming, etc.) if the two devices are both doing routing. Is there a clean solution (DMZ, IP passthrough, other) that you recommend? PS: I'm doing my tests on https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat.
