Joa, would fit, but any G.Skill RAM is also highly recommended (Ripjaws, Trident, etc.). At the moment, prices are extremely high for all components, so think carefully about whether you want to build a system now or only in about 6-12 months when prices have normalised again.
Hello, I'll try to answer your questions as best I can. 1. my graphics card is also connected via PCI 3.0 and the whole thing runs excellently for me. as far as I know, the mainboard shouldn't care which memory generation the graphics card has, and GDDR5 isn't that old either. 2. i use normal DDR4 RAM sticks (Corsair Dominator) and have no problems with them. according to the operating instructions, you can only install two, but you have to use the two correct memory banks or your system won't boot (everything is explained in the operating instructions). 3. the board is explicitly designed for the new Ryzen 5000s, so you don't need a UEFI update to boot them, I personally use the Ryzen 5900 and have no problems with it. I hope the answers were helpful!
ps: what I want to tell you is that it's not only about what your mainboard supports, but much more about what your CPU supports and is still accepted by the mainboard :D or something.
Hh
Yes, this ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII DARK HERO motherboard is compatible with the linked AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor (AM4, 3.80 GHz, 8-core).
Yes, of course. With me with 3600 MHz.
Yes, I have also had this problem. I use a switched power strip - accordingly, I didn't notice anything for a long time. I also have a Linux on the computer - but that makes no difference. IMHO, this is more a problem with the board than with the operating system.
A good source is the QVL list, which you can find at ASUS in the support area for the board. These modules will run in any case.
Yes it works! I have this motherboard myself and use the following RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo (2 x 16GB, DDR4-3600, DIMM 288 pin) I have also used various other RAM sticks on it, so don't worry.
yes, that's a nice box :) I also own the Ryzen 9 5950x, I have the smaller brother of your Asus board (a ROG Strix X570-E) and I can only report good things. As a software developer, I can use as much power as I want from many cores, I'm not much of a gamer in the classic sense, but I guess you won't use all the cores of the Ryzen 9 5950x for gaming - but more for editing videos. Have you had a look at the G.Skill Trident Z? If you value looks, I can only recommend them.
Any restrictions should be noted in the manual https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/ROG_CROSSHAIR_VIII_DARK_HERO/E17453_ROG_CROSSHAIR_VIII_DARK_HERO_UM_V2_WEB.pdf
ok....but placed in the wrong place. questions should be asked here
For me, the clock is always set to 40, I have the amd 9 5900x installed but unfortunately I don't understand exactly what you want to know or what it is. I could offer you to have a look at it on my PC.
Hi, yes, this card is "Ready for AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series" and works right out of the box.
Yes, you can boot directly with the new AMD processors without updating the bios. Seeya!
1) Is the AMP profile for the G.Skill Trident Z active in the bios? 2) Is the current bios installed? 3) Are all official and current drivers installed? 4) What does a reboot look like when you think there is no error message? Instant Black / Power Off ?
The Dark Hero has a feature for overclocking that no other board has so far. Dynamic OC Switcher. It also has no fan on the chipset, Ryzen 5000 support out of the box and the VRM's are designed for 90 mAh instead of 50 mAh. Further details can be found in the comparison. https://geizhals.de/?cmp=2079090&cmp=2413242&cmp=2079085&active=2
I ordered the 10G, apparently more people ordered them.... I can recommend the IPS panels with 144Hz from LG. They are available in various sizes / resolutions. (I have the LG 27GL850-B, great for photo/video editing and gaming).
Yes, I also only have 8Pin with 5950X CPU and it runs without problems. I don't know how it looks with OverClocking. The power supply performance is probably sufficient for every conceivable CPU that you can plug onto this board. However, the decisive factor is which graphics card you want to put on it and how intensively you want to use it (OC or not). But I think up to and with RTX 3080 it should be enough (even with OC). RTX 3090 in normal operation too. Unfortunately, I don't know what the situation is with AMD graphics cards.
I've been waiting since the beginning of January! But instead of "more than 10 ordered" it says since yesterday only 2 ordered... maybe finally a good sign?
It can be postponed. I was also told sometime in early February, then in the middle. Now March.
