The Reference Digital Audio 40 not only features a carefully designed conductor geometry to ensure the impedance required for optimal transmission of S/PDIF signals. Additionally, its silver-plated copper conductors are better at conducting higher frequencies. These frequencies are otherwise only transmitted at the edge of the conductor, which can lead to signal losses due to the skin effect.
