Product details

By using high-quality raw materials, a 3D printer filament is created that is particularly easy to process. A state-of-the-art manufacturing process achieves very low production tolerances, resulting in impressive printing results with all FDM 3D printers. Each spool is sealed in a high-quality bag.

Made in Switzerland. Low diameter and roundness tolerances. Easy to print. Polypropylene is a semi-crystalline plastic and belongs to the group of polyolefins. Polypropylene is the second most widely used plastic in the world. The purefil filament is made from a special polypropylene that has lower crystallinity, thus achieving higher transparency. This also leads to better processability with less warping.

Polypropylene has the lowest density of all standard plastics. This allows for the production of parts with significantly lower weight, and with 1 kg of filament, many more parts can be produced compared to other materials. PP has very good chemical resistance and is resistant to most acids and bases. Polypropylene has a special long-term flexural strength, making it very suitable for plastic hinges, film hinges, and latches. However, it is important to note its poor cold properties, which can cause PP to become brittle at low temperatures.

This filament meets the requirements of the European Regulation No. 10/2011 on plastic materials intended for food contact.

Properties:

  • Average strength, stiffness, and impact toughness
  • Low density
  • Very good chemical resistance
  • Special long-term flexural strength
  • Good stress crack resistance (better than PE)
  • However, very poor cold properties.
