Philips

The Philips TAR8805 is a hybrid digital internet radio that offers a variety of listening experiences through multiple connectivity options. This black radio receives both FM and DAB+ broadcasts and provides access to thousands of global internet radio stations across all program genres. The digital tuner ensures clear reception quality, and users can save up to 20 stations as favorites for quick access to preferred internet, DAB+, or FM channels. The Spotify Connect functionality allows mobile devices to serve as a remote control while the radio streams directly from Spotify servers for optimal audio quality. Bluetooth connectivity enables wireless streaming from other music services and personal devices. A wireless Qi charging pad on the top of the device offers convenient charging for compatible smartphones, complemented by a USB charging port for older device models. The unit features a large 2.4-inch color display that shows album covers and title information during Spotify playback, along with station logos when using internet radio or DAB. The matte black wooden housing contains a high-gloss screen and a black metal speaker grille, creating an aesthetically pleasing design suitable for various room settings. Dual alarm functions support two separate wake-up times, while the sleep timer allows users to fall asleep with background radio playback and automatic shut-off. A bass reflex port enhances low-frequency performance for fuller, more powerful bass. The unit functions as both a radio and a clock with a large, clear digital time display. Front panel controls provide straightforward operation, and the device includes a power supply for standard electrical connection. This radio combines traditional broadcast reception with modern streaming capabilities in a single integrated unit.
