The Pentax K-3 Mark III Monochrome + Pentax HD DA* 16-50mm/2.8 ED PLM AW is a digital single-lens reflex camera featuring a sensor specifically designed for ultimate quality in monochrome black-and-white photography. Conventional image sensors capture light through a matrix of red, green, and blue filters, with each pixel recording only one color component. To create a black-and-white image, traditional cameras must perform interpolation, converting color data into monochrome data. In contrast, the new exclusive monochrome image sensor captures only brightness information received by each pixel, producing exquisite black-and-white images with higher resolution and finer gradations without interpolation. To optimize the quality of black-and-white images, the camera is equipped with a special monochrome CMOS image sensor, omitting an anti-aliasing (AA) filter, with approximately 25.73 megapixels (effective) in APS-C format. This makes the camera ideal for astrophotography as well.

The K-3 III Monochrome is a camera for lovers of classic black-and-white photography who also appreciate more modern functionality. Nevertheless, the Pentax SLR can't quite get rid of that certain vintage feel - current mirrorless cameras fill up faster and more flexibly. There is absolutely nothing to criticise about the image quality...
