The Panasonic S1 is an L-mount full-frame system camera with top-notch features for both still and video use. Its capabilities and durability make it an excellent choice for both professionals and demanding enthusiasts. The camera utilizes a new 24-megapixel sensor and can record oversampled 4K30p video or 4K/60p images at APS-C crop.
Features
The S1 has a 5-axis image stabilizer, which provides up to 5.5 stops of stabilization even with lenses that do not have a stabilizer. It features the market's most accurate 5.76 million pixel OLED viewfinder. Thanks to its premium image sensor, the ISO sensitivity extends up to an impressive 204,800, making low-light photography a breeze. The wide dynamic range enhances post-processing. The autofocus uses Panasonic's DFD technology and works down to -6 EV light levels. With a fast processor and sensor, autofocus is updated 480 times per second. The body includes two memory card slots: one modern and ultra-fast XQD slot, and another SD memory card slot with UHS-II support.
Video Capabilities
The video recording capabilities of the Panasonic S1 are professional-grade. With good cooling, the S1 can record 4K30p video and Full HD video without time limits. An optional upgrade is available to allow recording of 10-bit 4:2:2 video. The S1 has a microphone input for better audio and a headphone input for audio monitoring. Additionally, it includes an HDMI A connector for recording video to an external recorder or for monitoring.
