Galar is a vast region with many different environments, ranging from idyllic village landscapes to modern cities, dense forests, and rugged, snow-covered mountains. People and Pokémon live side by side here, having developed various industries through their collaborative efforts. Your goal is to become the Champion. On your journey, you will have the opportunity to visit different gyms. You won't be alone, as Galar is home to newly discovered Pokémon, among which you can choose your very first partner.

Your adventure in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield begins when you select one of three new Pokémon. Grookey is a cheeky Grass-type monkey Pokémon brimming with curiosity. Scorbunny is a Fire-type rabbit Pokémon that is always full of energy and zips around. Sobble is a Water-type lizard Pokémon. It is somewhat timid and prefers to attack from its hiding place.
