As a result, the valley is teeming with howling, scurrying, mischievous spirits. Can Luigi find the lost pieces of the Dark Moon and bring peace back to the valley? Fortunately, Professor I. Gidd has equipped Luigi perfectly for the job of ghost hunter. For example, there is the strobe lightning, which Luigi can use to blind enemies, and the reliable fright path 09/15, which not only absorbs ghosts and objects, but can also affect objects in the surroundings in many different ways. Luigi's paranormal adventures take him to all kinds of places: an old botanical research laboratory, a dilapidated watch factory and a mine covered in ice and snow, to name but a few.
