As with the Lumix S1IIR, Panasonic has also made a big leap with the Lumix S1ll and S1IE. The more expensive S1ll has slight advantages in terms of speed and video. Whether these justify the higher price is up to each prospective buyer to decide. In terms of image quality, the differences are minimal and the results are roughly on a par with the Nikon Z6III...

- Powerful image stabiliser
- AI-supported autofocus
- Large high-resolution monitor
- Noise at high ISO values
In the test laboratory, the Nikon Z5ll showed no weaknesses in any category and only narrowly missed out on the top mark of "Super". Overall, Nikon has presented an excellent camera with the Z5ll, which can do much more than an ordinary entry-level camera and inherits some of the technology from its big sister, the Nikon Z6llI. It is definitely a very good choice for demanding photo enthusiasts.

- Robust, splash-proof, high-quality manufactured housing
- Effective sensor shift image stabiliser
- High speed (autofocus, storage time, continuous shooting)
- Very good, extensive video function (up to 4K30)
- Very good image quality up to ISO 6,400
- Raw continuous frame rate drops slightly compared to JPEG
The Nikon Z5II represents a significant development over the Z5 model and shares the proven BSI CMOS sensor with 24.5 megapixels and the Expeed 7 processor with the equally expensive Nikon Zf. It combines high-end functions such as fast autofocus, intelligent scene recognition, improved video functions and sophisticated handling in a compact body...

- First class picture quality
- Fast and reliable AF
- Extensive video functions
- Battery life and continuous shooting rate only mediocre
Nikon's entry-level full-frame camera Z5ll is a significantly modernised version of its predecessor, the Z5. The weather-resistant housing with its distinctive grip and classic operating layout has been retained. The main new feature is the powerful Expeed 7 processor - the same as in the professional Z8/Z9 models - which makes the camera noticeably faster...

- With the Z5ll, Nikon has put together a compact, powerful overall package at a fair price. It combines the latest technologies such as AI autofocus with scene recognition, fairly high continuous shooting rates and yet beginner-friendly operation with first-class image quality.
- Two memory card slots are an advantage, for example to record backups in parallel. But it would be welcome if one of them could use the modern CFexpress cards. Not all photographers like the swivelling folding monitor.
The new Z5ll from Nikon takes the entry-level Z camera series into the year 2025, which means that AI algorithms are used for AF control and the camera's speed performance leaves little to be desired. The Z5ll also has a lot to offer film enthusiasts among Nikon users: although no resolution records are broken, its 4K films at 60p can even be recorded in raw format and with image styles for targeted...
