A hard disk can be used to buffer print jobs, sort large jobs, or store forms, fonts, or macros. The following functions are enabled when a hard disk is installed:

• Diagnostics menu: Hard disk quick test, hard disk test/cleanup

• Execution in empty state (holding ink jobs until an empty ink cartridge is replaced).
