The Leica D-Lux 8 is a stylish but expensive compact camera. Its strengths include the fast zoom, the large viewfinder and the high image quality for photos. The D-Lux 8 is a little weaker when it comes to action shots and videos; Sony's RX series models such as the Cyber-shot RX100 VII offer more speed and better sound.
Smartphone cameras have become better and better in recent years, but they cannot match the image quality of high-quality compact cameras and system cameras.
