Integrated Trusted Platform Module security chip is a hardware security module that integrates core security elements into the subsystem, and was developed by HP in its capacity as a founding member of the Trusted Computing Group. The integrated TPM security chip uses a root key, which is stored in silicon, to extend the file and folder encryption of Microsoft operating systems and provides the basis for authenticating TPM-enabled PCs to the corporate network.
