The Merklang-Gong Wuarter was specially designed for 2-wire operation, especially with older bell systems, where there are only 2 wires - one coming from the transformer and one from the bell button -
to install a gong. Therefore only electromechanical and no electronic gongs can be connected. With this installation, there is no current left on the gong after the button is pressed. The article shown here is specially designed for this 2-wire installation in combination with a battery.
The battery ensures that the melody is played after pressing the bell button. The model can also be connected in the same way with an existing multi-wire installation. Both illuminated (only when connected to a bell transformer) and non-illuminated bell buttons can be used.
