Hamlet Universalfilament is an easy-to-print material suitable for all types of FDM 3D printers. Hamlet PLA (Polylactic Acid) is derived from plant starch, making it a renewable resource. The material is biodegradable in water within a timeframe of 12 months to 5 years, compared to plastic materials that take 500 to over 1000 years to decompose. Melting during printing occurs at low temperatures that do not produce fumes that could be harmful to health. Compared to ABS, PLA is less prone to expansion and shrinkage due to temperature changes, allowing for high-quality printing even for large objects. The lower extrusion temperature also results in energy savings when creating 3D models. For these reasons, PLA is the most popular printing material in the field of FDM 3D additive printing.
