Quick-charge high-performance NiMH batteries suitable for various applications, including high-current use such as cordless phones, radios, GPS receivers, flash units, remote controls, and clocks. These powerful, rechargeable cylindrical batteries with 1.2 V are designed for resource-saving use. Normal charging takes 16 hours at a maximum of 70 mA, while quick charging takes 144 minutes at a maximum of 350 mA, utilizing minus delta U charging monitoring. These rechargeable batteries have been specifically designed to retain their charge capacity over extended storage periods. With a very low self-discharge rate, they remain ready for use for weeks. Nickel-metal hydride batteries have been extensively tested for charge/discharge cycles, high current, short circuit protection, lifespan, and size.
