Multi-Lite Floor Lamp by Gubi
The Gubi Multi-Lite floor lamp, designed by Louis Weisdorf in 1972, is a classic of Scandinavian lighting design. The distinctive design of the floor lamp features its two-part rotating shade, which allows for the creation of varying light angles. The removable half of the shade can direct light upwards or downwards, and by rotating them in opposite directions, a pleasant indirect light effect is achieved. In 2017, Gubi also launched the Multi-Lite pendant lamp as a floor lamp, reminiscent of early Art Deco lighting. The unique feature of the floor lamp is the ability to individually adjust the two reflectors into a ring, allowing the light to be directed straight up or indirectly downwards.
Designer Louis Weisdorf - Multi-Lite Floor Lamp
Designer and architect Louis Weisdorf had a keen sense of form, which he integrated into his artistic lighting designs. Each lamp consists of the same elements that together create a work of art while protecting the eyes from direct illumination. Weisdorf's technical and creative understanding of design led to the creation of unique lamps.
