Flexibility with very good impact resistance and thermal insulation. Spectrum S-Flex 98A™ is a filament based on thermoplastic polyether polyurethane. In the field of additive manufacturing, S-Flex 98A™ is characterized by a relatively simple and trouble-free 3D printing process. It has excellent adhesion of the first layer of the printed part to the build plate, regardless of whether it is made of glass, steel, plastic, or another material. Low processing shrinkage and very high flexibility reduce the risk of warping edges of the manufactured parts. The filament name – 98A – refers to the hardness of the material on the Shore scale, placing S-Flex 98A in the category of hard elastomers. This property reduces the risk of deformation of the filament in the feed system from the filament to the print heads. As a result, a slightly faster printing speed is possible compared to other, more susceptible elastomers. The additively manufactured parts made from S-Flex 98A™ exhibit very high hydrolysis resistance, good recyclability, and excellent resistance to dynamic forces. Thanks to these properties, it is possible to print 3D parts for the protection of impact-prone surfaces (bumpers, edge protection), sealing and protective elements with high chemical resistance, and thermal insulators. Application areas include bushings, vibration dampers, protective covers, snap-fit parts, edge protection against impacts, bumpers, and flexible spacers, sealing parts with increased rigidity, spring-damping elements for use in machinery and model building, flexible bands with high strength, covers and housings for various devices, and components of thermal insulation systems.
