The active optical HDMI cables (AOC) of the 11943x series from equip® are a cabling technology that accepts the same electrical inputs as a conventional copper cable but uses optical fibers between the connectors to transmit HDMI signals without loss and latency. Our hybrid cable design consists of optical fibers and copper wires. High-speed TMDS signals are transmitted over the optical multimode fibers, while low-frequency control signals are transmitted over the copper wires. The high range of the active optical cables allows for transmissions over distances of up to 100 m without degrading signal quality or requiring a separate power supply.
