Thanks to inkjet technology, the prints are not only more detailed (600 dpi compared to 180 dpi in existing models), but they are also about twice as fast as previous models with a printing speed of 100 mm/s (23.2 lps). Epson has successfully integrated inkjet technology into this new model while keeping the overall operating costs similarly low to those of earlier dot matrix devices. The new ink cartridges feature an easy-to-install design that is ideal for high-traffic retail counters, as well as a plug-in paper roll for quick refills. The ink formula used offers better water and light resistance than dot matrix inks, ensuring that receipts and documents last longer.
