Defender 2D M modular system, wheelchair accessible. To ensure optimal passage for wheelchairs, the modular cable bridge Defender 2D M was developed based on our popular Defender MIDI cable bridge. It consists of a central section compatible with MIDI and a flat ramp, which can be extended and combined in any way, both in length and width. It offers extremely simple handling. The issue of accessibility has increasingly come into focus for event organizers and authorities in recent years. With conventional cable bridge systems, a compromise often had to be made between barrier-free access and drivability. The new Defender 2D M changes that: a completely traversable and wheelchair-friendly ramp with a 6° incline is attached to each central section. The load capacity of the ramp matches that of the central section, approximately 5 tons per 25 x 30 cm area. The gentle slope significantly eases access for wheelchair users, as it prevents the footrests from hitting the ramp. Additionally, traversing the cable bridges with forklifts and trucks becomes much simpler. The completely symmetrical design of the ramps facilitates assembly, and you will never have to search for the right attachment part again. The components are multidirectionally usable, with no right or left elements. Precise assembly plans are also unnecessary. Thanks to this symmetry, optimal stability in both longitudinal and transverse directions can be achieved by laying central sections and ramps in a half-bond pattern, while eliminating losses such as adapters and connectors. The connections have been designed to provide enough play for easy assembly while still offering sufficient stability. For example, the longitudinal connection of the ramps consists merely of a small protrusion that clicks into place under pressure from above.
