Defender 3 2D Modular System, wheelchair accessible

To ensure optimal accessibility for wheelchair users, the modular cable bridge Defender 3 2D has been developed based on our popular Defender 3 cable bridge. It consists of a central section and a flat ramp that can be expanded and combined in any way, both in length and width, with extremely simple handling.

In recent years, the issue of accessibility has increasingly come into focus for event organizers and authorities. With conventional cable bridge systems, a compromise often had to be made between wheelchair accessibility and traversability. The new Defender 3 2D changes that: a fully traversable and wheelchair-friendly ramp with a 6° incline can be attached to each central piece. The gentle slope makes it easy for wheelchair users to cross, and it is stable enough to be driven over by forklifts and trucks.

The system can be expanded in length and width as needed. Effortless walkability and safety are thus ensured even in areas where three channels are insufficient, such as near power generators or the FOH. Audio, lighting, and power cables, as well as hoses, can be laid out individually, easily, and safely. The completely symmetrical design of the central sections simplifies assembly, and you will never have to search for the right attachment part again. Detailed assembly plans are also not required.

Thanks to this symmetry, optimal stability in both longitudinal and transverse directions can be achieved by laying central sections and ramps in a half-bond pattern, while eliminating losses such as adapters and connectors. The connections have been designed to provide enough play for easy assembly while still offering sufficient stability.
