The AGM technology (Absorbent Glass Mat) features special fiberglass mats positioned between the lead plates of the battery, which absorb the acid. This results in a low internal resistance and a quick reaction between the acid and plate material, allowing the battery to provide larger amounts of energy. Thanks to AGM technology, Bosch's S5-AX auxiliary battery delivers reliable performance even during high load peaks. The 12V on-board network is stabilized, and fuel-saving start-stop phases can be extended, as a secure start is guaranteed even in extreme temperatures and while comfort functions are running. With a cycle durability that is up to four times higher compared to conventional starter batteries, Bosch's auxiliary batteries also achieve a longer lifespan. Additionally, the optimized grid design ensures excellent charge absorption and consistently high starting power and corrosion resistance. Furthermore, the S5-AX battery is completely maintenance-free due to its special lid design.
