In AGM technology (Absorbent Glass Mat), special fiberglass mats are placed between the lead plates of the battery to absorb the acid. This results in a low internal resistance and a rapid reaction between the acid and the plate material, allowing the battery to provide larger energy masses. Thanks to AGM technology, Bosch's S5-AX auxiliary battery delivers reliable performance even under high load peaks. The 12V onboard network is stabilized, and fuel-saving start-stop phases can be extended, as a secure start is guaranteed even at extreme temperatures and while comfort functions are running. Compared to conventional starter batteries, Bosch's auxiliary batteries achieve up to four times higher cycle stability, resulting in a longer lifespan. The optimized grid design also ensures excellent charge acceptance and consistently high starting power and corrosion resistance. Additionally, the S5-AX battery is completely maintenance-free due to its special lid design.
