In AGM technology (Absorbent Glass Mat), special fiberglass mats are placed between the lead plates of the battery, binding the acid. This results in a low internal resistance and a quick reaction between the acid and plate material, allowing the battery to provide larger amounts of energy. Thanks to AGM technology, Bosch's S5-AX auxiliary battery delivers reliable performance even during high load peaks. The 12V electrical system is stabilized, and fuel-saving start-stop phases can be extended, as a secure start is guaranteed even at extreme temperatures and while comfort functions are running. With a cycle stability up to four times higher than conventional starter batteries, Bosch's auxiliary batteries also achieve a longer lifespan. The optimized grid design additionally ensures very good charge acceptance and consistently high starting power and corrosion resistance. Moreover, the S5-AX battery is completely maintenance-free due to its special cover design.
