The XD5-40d is a 4-inch (118 mm) thermal direct desktop barcode and label printer designed for mid-range use, featuring a compact design and comprehensive software capabilities, making it ideal for label printing in manufacturing, transportation, logistics, retail, and healthcare. The printer is available in different resolutions with options for XD5-40d (203 dpi) and XD5-43d (300 dpi). The standard XD5-40d model supports fast data processing and print speeds of up to 7 ips (178 mm/s) and offers expanded memory of up to 256 MB SDRAM and 256 MB Flash. With an on-site installable peeler, autocutter, and an external paper feed, the label printer also offers an optional LCD display, customizable paper guides plus holders, and a media roll diameter of up to 127 mm. Enhanced with Smart Media Detection™ for automatic recognition of various media formats such as gap, black mark, continuous, or notch, it comes with a standard 2-year warranty. The XD5-40d is equipped with dual USB 2.0 and USB host as standard, with optional dual WLAN, dual Bluetooth, serial, or Ethernet, supporting various connectivity options. The USB host port allows for copying existing printer settings and data to other printers using the Twin Function™. The XD5-40d is compatible with leading programming languages such as SLCS™, BPL-Z™, and BPL-E™. Additionally, it provides comprehensive firmware and software, including XPM™ web-based printer profile management from Bixolon and Simple Network Management Protocol (MIB files). It is compatible with label design software like BIXOLON Label Artist-II™ and BarTender®.
