The Ansmann Energy 8 Plus is a battery charging and maintenance station for 1-6 Micro AAA or Mignon AA, 1-4 Baby C or Mono D, or for 1-2 9V blocks. The device performs a capacity quick test of the inserted batteries in about 5 seconds. A diagnosis of the batteries is conducted, and if necessary, an automatic refreshing and/or pre-charging process is initiated to regenerate previously damaged batteries.

The charging and maintenance station features microcontroller-monitored charging control and individual slot monitoring, fivefold overcharge protection, reverse polarity protection, battery defect and alkaline detection, as well as pulse maintenance charging. The battery status is clearly displayed by a multicolored LED for each charging slot. The Energy 8 Plus is globally usable thanks to switch-mode power supply technology (100 - 240 V wide range input)!.
