This adapter allows the connection of a front panel USB type C connector to an internal 20 pin USB 3.0 header of the mainboard. It is therefore especially suitable for USB 3.1 compatible I/O chassis panels, if they only have external connectors that had to be connected to the external connector panel of the mainboard via the rear side of the chassis.
